About us

Riverstyx Grave Care was created for a simple reason: keeping a gravesite well cared for isn’t always easy.

Families move out of the area. Work gets busy. Schedules fill up. Seasons change quickly. And over time, something that matters deeply can become harder to tend the way you’d like.

Our approach

Our work is simple and intentional. We clean, tend, and maintain gravesites so they don’t fall into neglect. That might mean clearing debris, refreshing plantings, placing seasonal arrangements, or returning regularly to keep things in order. No shortcuts, no rushed work.

We avoid plastic materials whenever possible, use locally appropriate and drought tolerant plants, and follow cemetery rules in a respectful manner.

We also keep communication simple and clear. After each visit, you’ll know the work has been done and what the space looks like, without having to follow up or wonder.

Motivated by experience

Growing up, my mom always made a point to care for our family’s graves. We would go along with her as kids, and explore the cemetery while she gardened. After she passed, I found myself feeling guilty and frustrated because I didn't have the time to get to her grave as often as I felt I should. Riverstyx Grave Care comes from that experience: I know what it's like to want the resting places of your loved ones to feel cared for, even when you can’t be there yourself.

Frequently asked questions

  • How often should a gravesite be maintained?

Most gravesites benefit from at least seasonal attention—spring clean-up, mid-summer upkeep, and fall preparation. Without regular care, weeds, debris, and weather can quickly make a site look neglected. Ongoing visits help keep everything clean, intentional, and in good condition over time.

  • What’s included in a gravesite visit?

Each visit will be different, depending on the service you choose. All visits will focuses on bringing the site back to a clean, cared-for condition. That typically includes removing weeds and debris, tidying the surrounding area, and resetting any items that have shifted. Additional services like headstone cleaning or planting flowers can be added depending on what the site needs.

  • What if I don’t live nearby?

That’s exactly why this service exists. Many clients are out of town or simply can’t visit as often as they’d like. Regular updates and photos can be provided after visits, so you know the site is being looked after without having to be there in person.
